Walking My Neighborhood #5

Another post of my everyday life and the things I see in and around my neighborhood.

Rainbow on my carpet.

My balcony

We've lived in this townhome for nine years and we had never planted anything in the little patio area until a few weeks ago.  I'm sure no one cares about this but me, but I was so excited I had to share.

Little known fact - I have always been intrigued by snails.  I did a research report on them in ninth grade.  True story.

This struck me as funny.  Bus information - apparently if you actually need information you're out of luck.

This trio was playing at the neighbor mall.  Nice.

I can see this corner stop sign through the trees from my kitchen window.  It catches my eye when the sunlight hits it.

F-18s in formation flying out of Miramar Marine Corps Air Station.  They're really loud.

Lululemon coming to my neighborhood mall!  Yay!

Always good advice.

I'll leave you with a couple moon shots from the last full moon.  More to come with the one that's appearing tonight.

From my world to yours - just a frame away.

Pride Parade 2013 - San Diego

Saturday, July 13 was a great day - my first San Diego Pride Parade!  And it was everything I hoped it would be.  It was overflowing with color, joy, laughter, diversity, and beautiful San Diego sunshine.  A great day indeed.

There was definitely a lot of good people (and pet!) watching before the parade started.

There was a 5k run to kick the festivities off.

I almost wore MY pink feather hat - crisis averted!

Then the parade was kicked off with a huge group of motorcyclists.

La Toya Jackson - one of the Grand Marshals

Grand Marshal George Takei - aka Mr. Sulu, helmsman of the Star Trek USS Enterprise - and his spouse, Brad.

This guy was so proud - he was telling everyone in the crowd that this was his mother.  Can't you just see it on his face?

A second shot - from the side - just to make sure you didn't miss anything.

Who doesn't love firemen?

My Congressman.  I was so proud.

I don't know about this - is anyone else thinking Michael Jackson??  Call the ASPCA.

A marriage proposal right in the middle of the parade!  So sweet -  apparently two local well-known guys.

Awww....

Leslie Jordan - The hilarious 4' 11" powerhouse who has played parts in numerous TV shows like Reba, Boston Legal,  Desperate Housewives, and Will and Grace.

In the end, isn't this what it's really all about - To care about each other and to treat everyone with respect and dignity, even if you don't share their views?

From my world to yours - just a frame away.
