Walking My Neighborhood #7

“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.”  ~Marcel Proust

I recently came across this quote and it really resonated with me.  As is obvious from the title of this post, I have taken and posted many photos that are within a two mile radius of my house.  I have walked the area countless times and this landscape has become so very familiar to me.  When we see the same sights hundreds of times, it is easy to become bored and want something different.

But in reality, everything is constantly changing - seasons change, the light, the shadows, the clouds, the sky are always changing, flowers come and go.  If we can practice being mindful and "having new eyes," there is always so much to discover, even in our familiar landscapes.

The intricacies of a lamp post....

A bird resting in a bush....

The sculpture in front of the public library.  It has only the letters A, C, G, and T  -- a secret code perhaps??

For my sister, who loves contrails.....

And, of course, Sunday night's full moon......

Thanks so much for walking with me.

From my world to yours - just a frame away.
