Kauai 2013

Kauai - what an amazing island.  I never get tired of going there and always feel very fortunate to be there.  It is so beautiful and so relaxing - it definitely feeds my soul.

Our home away from home in Kauai is:

Where every morning we wake up to this.  Wow.

The chickens (and roosters) are kind enough to share the resort with us.   But the early morning wake-up calls were not on my request list.

This year we had a resident egret.

And of course the flowers are amazing.

The sky there is ever-changing.  I think it's just as beautiful as the water.

Sunsets over the water.  It's a main event at Waiohai.  People take their drinks and set up lounge chairs just to watch the sun go down.

I loved this shot of the sailboat right in front of the sun.

We were so fortunate to have Jill, Brian, and Mason join us for 10 days.  We had such a great time!  Mason had a couple "first experiences" getting acquainted with the pool and the ocean.

He got some warmin' up and drying off from Mom.

I was enthralled with Mason's long eyelashes (and a teensy bit jealous).  I tried to snap a few pics up close while he was asleep but the shutter click kept waking him up.

This is how busy moms grab many of their meals.

We laughed about the many faces of Mason.  He makes excellent use of his eyebrows - sometimes with  one and sometimes with both of them.  We surmised that each has a different meaning.  See what you think.

Aloha, Jill and Brian.

Rod and I spent three more days at Marriott's Kauai Beach Club.  Entirely different vibe there, but also beautiful views.

Caught a pic of this plane landing at Lihue airport.  I found myself thinking that those lucky people were just arriving and I was getting ready to say goodbye to Kauai.

Thanks, Kauai - it was wonderful and we're gonna miss ya.  Until next year.......

Thank you so much for coming along with me - I really enjoy sharing with you.

From my world to yours - just a frame away   -   Donna
